Trend Chart

Sometimes you need to show trend information on a chart. For such cases, I’ll show you how to make a trend chart in this tutorial.

Making a trend chart is almost no different then making a default line chart. We are going to make just a little data manipulation and a little formatting.

Here is data manipulation part. We need to arrange our data to show trend (forcast) data in a seperate column (Notice that last of actual data and forcast data has same value. This is for having a continuous line).

Select gray cells in your data table and insert a line chart.You will have a line chart with 2 continuous series. Right click on trend serie and open Format Data Series menu. Make the change shown below.

Your tred chart is now finished. Do seom more formatting if you like and it is ready for service.
